I'm an avid reader and bookstore fan. My favorite Metaphysical bookstore in the U.S. is Minerva Books in Palo Alto, California.  A Victorian home converted into a bookstore, each room houses a different topic.  If I had my own physical plane bookstore that's just how I'd do it.  My favorite used bookstore is Bart's Books in Ojai, California.  A huge tree grows in the center of a courtyard.  Bookshelves, each with its own little tin roof, create a labyrinth there outdoors, miraculous to me, a four-season midwesterner. For a full service bookstore my choice is the independently owned Tattered Cover in Denver.

            I'm very fond of my local Metaphysical bookstore, Styx and Stonz in Hoffman Estates where there's always a tantalizing new selection of crystals and tarot cards.  Sanctuary Crystals in Alsip, IL is my favorite in the Chicago area.  They have a huge selection of books, lots of recordings of new age music and ancient mantras, and spiritual artwork.  Not only do they have crystals in abundance but also a sanctuary, a room just for yoga and meditation.

            This is my akashic bookstore, an on-line, virtual, sort of astral place, where I can tell you all about my favorite books and what I'm reading now.  You can buy them here through Amazon and me, support your local book-seller, or try Half.com for used books.  Or get them from the library which is what I do often.  Except that I love books and have a huge personal collection of astrology, spiritual, metaphysical and self-help books that somehow followed me home from my favorite bookstores.   I hope to present the best of them to you here.
