DELINEATION
The beginning books also include horoscope delineation or interpretation. There are many more astrology books on this subject. Some are down to earth and discuss everyday matters. Others are more psychological or metaphysical in their point of view. Here are a few that I like:
Planets
in Youth by Robert Hand
I like
this book a lot. Although its interpretations are meant for children
and teenagers, it's such a good reference to look at your chart -- all
the planets in sign, house, and aspect -- and consider what your life would
have been like if you'd had this information sooner. Of course, it's
an excellent resource for parents for understanding their kids.
Planets in Aspect by Robert Pelletier and Planets in Signs by Skye Alexander are two more helpful books in this series.
Speaking
of planets in signs, many of my beginning students start with
Linda
Goodman's Sun Signs, which goes into extensive detail about your own
personality characteristics as described by your solar placement, as well
as those of spouse, child or boss.
For another piece of your personality picture, try The Rising Sign : Your Astrological Mask by Jeanne Avery. (You must have your exact time of birth to know your rising sign. Hopefully you have your horoscope calculations in hand. If not, go to the Astrolabe site for a free copy of your horoscope.)
A more
complete reference book for chart delineation is
Sakoian
& Acker's The
Astrologer's Handbook.
