The conjunction of the New Moon with Neptune indicates caution should be taken with decision and commitment making. It's more difficult to pull plans together with the Neptune influence and promises made aren't always fulfilled. Keep notes and write lists to help with the tendency toward forgetfulness. With the Aquarius
New Moon also opposed Jupiter, expect an increase in intuition and a feeling
of openness and generosity. Be charitable but gently guard your boundaries.
In other words, embody lovingkindness but don't give everything away.
FEBRUARY 16, 2003 - FULL MOON - 27 LEO 54 - 5:51 PM CST FEBRUARY 16, 2003 - JUPITER OPPOSED NEPTUNE - 11 LEO/AQUARIUS The Full Moon is opposed Uranus. Emotions can run the gamut from the restless urge for freedom to outright rebellion. What can you do to make yourself feel youthful and creative without doing something dangerous or going to extremes? I'd like to repeat what I said in September about the Jupiter opposition to Neptune. These two planets relate to acquiring wisdom and seeing more deeply into subtle states of consciousness. Take time for meditation. Send peace and blessings to all beings and avoid arguments about religion and politics. Because the aspect is an opposition, it emphasizes the polarity between government versus individual freedom, the letter of the law opposed to the spirit of the law, and book learning compared to inner contemplation. With the Jupiter opposed Neptune in combination with the Aquarius Full Moon conjunct Uranus, I'd like to add that while humanitarian ideals are important, how you treat the people in your everyday life is even more significant for your own personal spiritual growth. FEBRUARY 22, 2003 - SATURN DIRECT - 22 GEMINI Remember the Saturn-Pluto opposition that was so active in 2001 & 2002? (The natives of the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces know exactly what I'm talking about.) Issues of control and manipulation will arise again as this Saturn direction opposes transiting Pluto. What did you learn about this aspect in 2002? Can you apply this knowledge to frame a different response to similar circumstances? During her astrological consultation, one client told me she was being pressured to take on extra responsibilities by work, family and friends under this aspect. A generous soul, she was always saying "yes" without reflection. I suggested she learn to say, "Let me think about that and I'll get back to you." She called me recently to say this has worked like a charm. The extra time gives her the opportunity to choose the commitments that are appropriate and find a correct response for those that are not. **********

When I'm teaching beginning astrology and the students see their charts for the first time, some of them look at the empty houses and ask what it means to have a house without planets. I start by explaining that there's only ten planets and twelve houses so somewhere there's going to be an empty spot. And since planets like Mercury and Venus tend orbit fairly close to the Sun (as seen from Earth), planets will often be in bunches. While it's definitely easier to interpret a house with planetary residents, all houses should be studied by house cusp first. The house cusp is the doorway into the meaning of that house, the same way the ascendant is the doorway to the entire horoscope. In other words, the zodiacal sign on the second house will show you how money gets to you and how you handle money. The sign on the fifth house is how romance comes into your life and what kind of romantic encounters you enjoy. (Marion March & Joan McEvers' book "The Only Way to Learn About Astrology - Volume II" has a long section on zodiacal signs on house cusps. It's available at ACS: http://www.acspublications.com/books/books3.html#bow1e2 ) Once you understand the sign on the house cusp, then look at the planet that rules that sign. The aspects to the ruling planet and the house the ruling planet is in will add to your interpretation. ("The Wisdom and Way of Astrology" by Goswami Kriyananda includes a chapter on the ruler of one house in another. http://www.yogakriya.org ) For example, Ted Turner,
Take time to interpret and reflect on the house cusps in your own chart for some valuable insights into the obstacles and opportunities in the areas of your life each house represents. ****************************************************************************** (c) 2002 Marcia M.
