Venus went direct yesterday (April 19) and an astrology friend shared her Venus retrograde experience with me. She said that during this time she had gotten back in touch with friends she'd gone to school with forty years ago. I love hearing positive retrograde stories. There's a pace and tempo to life that sometimes requires us to back up and take another look at things. NEW MOON - April 23 - 10:26 am CDT - 3 Taurus 32 The new moon in Taurus is classically the time for planting gardens. Take this symbolically and think about what seeds (of love, abundance, creativity, health etc.) you'd like to plant at this time. Create your affirmation (the seed) and don't forget to take the actions a good gardener would take - preparing the earth (with meditation), digging out the weeds (of negative thinking), and watering (repeating your affirmation with positive emotion). The Divine provides the sunshine -- we're not in charge of everything ;-) In May we have one week with a concentration of aspects. Three or more strong aspects together are more likely to represent major events than one single aspect. In this case we have: May 6 - Jupiter opposed Pluto - 14 Gemini/Sagittarius The natural tendency under an opposition is to polarize. With Jupiter and Pluto, there can be conflict in political and religious philosophies. So you might want to consider staying out of those kind of discussions at that time. There are times when wonderful dialogues can take place on sensitive issues. This won't be one of them. FULL MOON - May 7 - 8:53 am CDT - 17 Scorpio 04 The full moon is always an opposition between the moon and the sun, in this case on the Scorpio/Taurus axis, so we have another polarizing effect. The fixed sign energy means everyone is sure *they* are right and won't compromise. Avoid absolutes and ultimatums. May 10 - Neptune Retrograde - 8 Aquarius General advice for Neptune stations (one or two weeks on either side of the exact date): Not good for making decisions or beginning new projects. There's always a blind spot (the house it falls in your chart is your blind spot, as well as anything to do with planets it aspects inharmoniously) and information received during Neptune stations is not always accurate or complete. There's a spacey energy that encourages forgetfulness. Write everything down (and don't forget to look at what you wrote down!) May 11 - Mars Retrograde - 29 Sagittarius Combined with the Neptune station, this Mars retrograde makes it a very dangerous time for driving because Mars rules Cars and Neptune means people aren't going to be paying attention to their driving. Stay awake and alert! This is (symbolically) an Exxon Valdez type aspect - the Drunken Captain crashes the ship and pollutes miles of the Alaskan coastline with oil. Don't start new projects when Mars goes retrograde, but it's often a good time to begin to do the research work for things you want to put into action in the future. When there's a series of aspects like this does it mean you shouldn't go out of the house? No, it means you should pay attention. Be the detached observer and watch how people will try to draw you into their fights and arguments. There's no law that requires you to judge anyone and the world will probably keep spinning if you refrain from offering an opinion. Pay attention while driving. This is not the time to be an aggressive driver -- plan ahead and give the other guy plenty of room. Leave a little early for appointments, drive slow and stay relaxed. Put music on the car radio with a rhythm that keeps you awake and alert. As a matter of fact, under a Neptune station,
the right music can be very powerful. Use music as a tool to calm
you down or pick you up. Best, of course, would be chanting a mantra
along with musicians like Robbie Gass & On Wings of Song. The
Shri Ram mantra would be good for Mars.
