****************************************************************************** Some lunations are not as innocent as they appear. If they are conjunct, opposed, or squared to one of the outer planets, they take on the nature of that planet. AUGUST 18 - NEW MOON - 26 LEO - 9:55 P.M. CDT The New Moon at 26 Leo is opposed transiting Uranus at 22 Aquarius. This is a lively, upbeat energy but expect the unexpected. The opposition is between the individual ego and the group or traditional leadership and new/original ideas. [Astrology Observed: This New Moon with its Uranus (radical change) opposition is opposed my natal Moon (home/family). Isn’t it interesting that both my boys are moving away from home this weekend? The younger one is off to college. The older one has a new career and his own apartment.] AUGUST 23 - PLUTO DIRECT - 12 Sagittarius This Pluto station point is opposed Saturn
-- still part of that ongoing transit I wrote about last month: <http://www.marciasacks.com/newsletter/newsletter-july-01.html>
Keep in mind that Pluto stations are excellent times for cleaning closets, basements, attics, and drawers, symbolic of leaving the past behind. Here’s an affirmation from Louise Hay to reflect on during this process: As I clean up and clear out my physical space, I am cleaning up and clearing out my life, preparing for all the good that is coming to me now. My article about leaving old baggage behind
might be helpful during this Pluto transit:
SEPTEMBER 2 - FULL MOON - 10 PISCES - 4:34 P.M. CDT Pisces is such a gentle, introspective sign that normally it's full moon would be a good time for daydreaming. This year, this Full Moon is making a grand cross with the Saturn-Pluto opposition, so it’s triggering off the same issues from August 5 and 23. There is some good news: Jupiter, the planet of philosophy and higher learning (not to mention wealth and abundance), is trining the Full Moon. It's a good time to apply all the wisdom you've acquired throughout life to current events. Even tough situations can provide opportunities for advancement. In the future: 9-17-01 New Moon

"How Astrology Can Help You Create Health Daily" by Dr. Christiane Northrup
-- on the Astrolabe site:
And speaking of Astrolabe ... I upgraded to Solar Fire 5 <http://alabe.com> and I’m having lots of fun figuring out the new options. Many of my students ask me about astrology programs. Solar Fire is an excellent and comprehensive professional level astrology program, but to be honest, I only use a fraction of its abilities. If you’re just looking to run off a natal chart, there are lots of less expensive programs, including shareware and freeware (for example, free astrology programs can be found at <http://www.astrowin.org/> ) If you’re a serious student, you might want to check out Solar Fire. For those of you who study geocosmic cycles, you might find this article on sunlight and health intriguing: http://www.mercola.com/2001/aug/4/sunlight.htm ABC News’ 20/20 did a segment on the healing power of prayer: click here ****************************************************************************** FALL CLASSES with MARCIA SACKS ASTROLOGY: Read Your Own Horoscope To know astrology for yourself is like having an open book to read into the past, present and future of any individual, relationship, or situation.
