Update Newsletter - January 2001
by Marcia Sacks There's nothing like a lineup of planets to trigger an event. Right at the new moon, Saturn and Jupiter both make stationary directs. Let's start with that new moon on January 24th. I'm usually very fond of the NM in Aquarius which falls in my second house of money with good effect. But this NM at 4 Aq is conjunct Neptune at 6 Aq. With Neptune's nebulous nature, things will likely be unclear for the beginnings that are normal at NM times. Not good for major decision making but could be great for meditation, contemplation, affirmation programming, and music enjoyment. Because Aquarius has a correspondence to computers and technology, this NM is not a good time to load new software or upgrade hardware (at least a few days before and after this NM). OK -- that's just the New Moon. Now
add in Saturn (24 Taurus) with its timing delays and heavy obligations.
Now combine this all with Jupiter going direct at 0 Gemini early on 1/25/01 -- that love of freedom and urge to expand is going to go into a tug of war with Saturn. I know those planets are not in opposition by longitude but the urge to expand (Jupiter) vs. the urge to contract (Saturn) creates a battlefield within us as each force struggles for dominance. But don't forget -- Jupiter along with Saturn can bring an opportunity along with an obstacle. Try an affirmation like this: I gain freedom through focus and discipline. Image: a hot-air balloon/controlled flight. The Jupiter in Gemini air confined by the skin of the balloon (Saturn), the bags of sand for ballast (Saturn in Taurus) and the urge for ascension (Jupiter in Gemini). These forces can work together in balance and harmony. ***********

************** The Full Moon is on February 8 at 19 Leo (Yikes! That's on my Pluto. That means everyone from around 1949 - 1954 will have it conjunct their Pluto's too. Plenty of powerful energy for accomplishment but lots of strong egos to deal with.) The Full Moon's nature is colored by the other transits. FM at 19 Leo makes a grand cross with Mars (25 Scorpio), Saturn (24 Taurus), and Uranus (20 Aquarius) plus Mercury (28 Aquarius). Conflicts (Mars) between authority figures (Saturn) and those that rebel against them (Uranus). Which one are you? Let me tell you one thing. You really don't want to provoke a battle under these type of aspects. Mars-Saturn aspects leave scars. Remember: Mercury is the trigger -- you have the power to speak (pulling the trigger of the aspect) or remain silent (a tough discipline). I usually just postpone "discussions" a few days -- that gives the emotions (the Moon) a little time to settle down. (FYI: George W. Bush has that FM conjunct his first house Venus in Leo.) *********************
