****************************************************************************** July 19 - Mars
Direct - 15 Sagittarius
Normally, Mars direct combined with a New Moon is a time when projects that have been delayed really start rolling. This particular Mars direct, however, is an event trigger for the Saturn-Pluto opposition described below (August 5). The New Moon in Cancer will put the focus on home and family so the issues described by Saturn and Pluto in opposition may play out there. August 4 - Full Moon - 12 Aquarius
- 12:56 a.m. CDT
Slow moving transits like Saturn opposed Pluto often make several passes (with retrogrades) and stay in the same general area for quite awhile. The opposition will be exact again on November 2, 2001 and May 25, 2002. But the lessons of Saturn and Pluto are ours to learn over the course of the whole next year. Saturn establishes foundation. Pluto asks us to transform. Can we do both? Saturn works best within your comfort zone. Pluto generally forces you out of your comfort zone. These two planets will be playing a tug of war with your life both internally and in the world around you. How you make use or balance these energies will determine your success in the year ahead. Look to the houses transiting Saturn and Pluto fall in to understand which area of your life will receive the most push and pull. Saturn is the immovable object and Pluto is the irresistible force. You will recognize this aspect when you go head to head with the powerful forces in your life. If you get deadlocked try to take a step back and be willing to look at the problem or situation in a new way. It's a lot like the summer road construction here in the Chicago area -- a main road might have lanes blocked off and traffic at a standstill, but if you can find a detour ... Be flexible and look for new paths or new ways of thinking. In particular, on August 5th, Mercury, the planet of communications and the mind will be sextile/trine the Saturn-Pluto. Therefore, your skill at problem solving will increase and your ability to talk your way out of a tight spot will be excellent. Stay calm and be tactful and diplomatic. Avoid ultimatums and give yourself time to think about any commitments others may seem to be forcing on you. The Full Moon in Aquarius is also sextile/trine the Saturn-Pluto opposition. Look for opportunities to express your unique ideas and beliefs in ways that are non-confrontational. In general, everyone's emotional energies are heightened at the Full Moon. Use that energy toward accomplishment but don't let it motivate you to be controlling or manipulative. And if others try to control or manipulate you, pull out of emotionality and into the Aquarius mode of scientific detachment, analyzing the situation for innovative solutions. Positive thoughts and affirmations for the Saturn-Pluto opposition: * Don't let the
things you can't do, keep you from doing the things you can do
