This New Moon in Pisces is a chance to create an inward vision that will bloom with the coming of Spring. Imagine, if you will, a life that is more intuitively in harmony with the greater dream of Life Divine. MARCH 20 - PLUTO RETROGRADE - 17 SAGITTARIUS
The Vernal Equinox is the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It's one of those natural cycles of new beginnings that you can celebrate by writing down your goals (and speaking them aloud, if only to yourself). It's too early for planting garden flowers in the Chicago area, but just the right time to plant a seed for the plans you wish to manifest in the coming year. Pluto is a powerful force for transformation.
Use it to break out of old ruts, old habit patterns. But seriously
folks, you don't have to
And Pluto energy is great for spring cleaning!
Just don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
MARCH 28, 2002 - FULL MOON - 7 LIBRA 54 - 12:24 PM CST This Libra Full Moon is making a cardinal cross with Jupiter in Cancer and the asteroid Chiron in Capricorn. It's an excellent time to work on issues of healing between you (Aries) partners (Libra), family (Cancer), and authority figures (Capricorn). Even a simple statement of releasing old resentments and affirming forgiveness during meditation practice or before going to sleep at night can make a powerful impact on your external world. SUNDAY APRIL 7,

4-12-02 - New Moon
- 22 Aries

"I'm enjoying your Beginner's Corner . I was wondering about some aspect symbols I've seen in the AstroWeather column of the Monthly Aspectarian. Maybe some of your other beginner readers might be interested: I understand all the aspect symbols, except
for one that looks almost like #, one that looks like //, and one that
looks like a sideways ^. "
First, I want to applaud Cindy for creative use of normal keyboard type to sub for astrology glyphs. I put up the glyphs on my webpage so you can see what we're talking about: http://marciasacks.com/astrology-aspects.htm Students of astrology are familiar with the major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine & opposition) but what about those minor aspects? Most astrologers call the 150 degree quincunx (also called the inconjunct), the major minor aspect. The quincunx is an inharmonious stress aspect that most people can recognize and acknowledge working in their charts. Other than the quincunx, I don't regularly use minor aspects in my horoscope interpretations. I tend to look at the major aspects because most of the life problems that we generally need to work on are not subtle at all. The minor aspects are subtle but interesting to study and consider if you're looking at your own chart. In particular, if you have a planet in your chart that has no major aspects to it, investigate the minor aspects for new insights. The semi-sextile - 30 degrees - is considered harmonious, and has a Mercury flavor, linking two planets on a mental level. The semi-square - the sort-of ^ or < symbol - 45 degrees - is slightly inharmonious - like a little square. Quintile - Q - 72 degrees - slightly good.
// is a parallel of declination and the same thing with a line through it is a contra-parallel. Parallels of declination are important but too complex to discuss here. For more info on parallels go to: http://karma.astrology.com/declinations.html The Monthly Aspectarian that Cindy mentioned is a Chicago area 'new-age' magazine which has a section called "Astro-Weather" - a forecast done by Guy Spiro for the daily transits which give each day its own unique energy. Articles from the Monthly Aspectarian (but not Astro-Weather) can be read online at: http://www.lightworks.com If you have questions about this article
