The New Moon in Libra often brings a focus on partnerships and working in harmony with others, along with legal negotiations for fairness and equality. However, even though Mercury is going direct, it is conjunct Mars and square to Saturn in Gemini. This indicates that a people in partnership or in legal or diplomatic negotiations might get stuck in old thought patterns from the past and play out old scripts with one another. OCTOBER 10, 2002
- VENUS RETROGRADE - 15 SCORPIO
In general, Venus retrogrades are times to avoid major purchases, especially those that relate to beauty -- cosmetics, clothes, and new hairstyles. Astrological transits and aspects are never isolated, each one relates to and influences the other. So with the New Moon in Libra and Venus retrograde in Scorpio, issues relating to partnership (Venus, Libra) and sexuality (Scorpio) may become significant. And furthermore ... Looking at the Mercury Direct (October 6, above), the Saturn retrograde touches off the same square to the Mercury-Mars conjunction. Keep in mind the phrase from the "Miranda Rights": "Everything you say can, and will, be used against you." If you can stop and think "is this wise?" before speaking, even for two seconds, you will soften or neutralize a large percentage of what might be called "bad karma." OCTOBER 20, 2002
- NEPTUNE DIRECT - 8 AQUARIUS
Keeping in mind the idea that what the New Moon begins, the Full Moon fulfills, re-examine your partnerships. If you've been careful to use tact and diplomacy (two great Libra words), then you might find a deeper level of harmony and perhaps (along with the Neptune station) a 'soulmate' connection as the Full Moon's Aries-Libra axis trines/sextiles both Saturn and Uranus. At least a week on
either side of a Neptune station, commitments are very difficult to sustain
and projects are difficult to bring to completion (not a good time for
new beginnings). It can be an excellent time, however, to deepen
and extend your meditation practice, do mantra and chanting, or listen
to subliminal or self-hypnosis tapes with a positive message.

The Online College of Astrology < http://www.astrocollege.com/ > has revamped their webpage. OCA has a variety of class offerings taught entirely over the internet. My friend Kaye Shinker teaches the financial astrology classes there. We were fortunate to have Kaye in the Chicago area for many years, lecturing at the NCGR chapters. Kaye's had a lot of positive experiences making money with the stock market using astrology, and shares that with her online classes. Offline, they do the required reading in the textbook and other materials. Then, in the class sessions, done in 'chat room' style, they use the current stock market/current transits to apply the financial astrology principles. ****************************************************************************** Kriya Yoga Satsang: A Meditation Circle

Just like speaking a foreign language, there's a lot of astrology learn by osmosis, by being in the environment. If you want to learn French quickly, go to France where you'll hear it all around you. The same with astrology. It's fun to be someplace where everyone's speaking "astrologese" and it will accelerate your learning process. Where to go? There may be an astrology group in your local area which hold monthly meetings with lectures on various aspects of astrology. Before or after the meetings, people hang out and talk astrology. Often the lecturer or more experienced members of the group will be glad to answer your general questions about astrology. It's not good etiquette to offer your own chart to someone to read on the spot unless they ask to see it. But bring a copy of your horoscope wheel with -- then you can apply what you're learning directly to your own chart. If you don't have a local group, here are some options ... form a local chapter of a national group or form your own study group ... or if you enjoy getting lots of email, sign on to one of the astrology interest email lists.
